Starting from the horse riding center in Damnoni, the riders are heading north with direction to the hills around Plakias. The riders follow the "Avlaka", a water-channel that irrigates all the farms of the area, with water coming from the springs of “Kourtaliotis” river. The riders will enjoy a slow ride among paths with luxuriant vegetation because of the water, cross small rivers and meet the Cretan flora and fauna: herds of sheep, meadows with wild flowers and olive groves.
After crossing “Avlaka”, the riders follow a path with direction to the western hills, and meet ruins from some interesting sites of the area. By arriving at the top of the hills, they can enjoy a breath-taking panoramic view of the Plakias bay and the Livyan Sea. Then, they slope down the way back through some olive groves and meadows of flowers to the starting point.
